War heroes we have researched

Florence Nightingale was a truly amazing and inspirational nurse. She changed the face of nursing from an untrained career to a highly skilled profession. She was born on the 12th of may 1820 in Florence, Italy and was brought up in Derbyshire and Hampshire and was named after the place of her birth.

Edith Cavell
Born 4th december 1865 in Norfolk, UK. Edith entered the nursing profession at the age of 20. She was a British nurse who moved to Belgium and was appointed matron at Berkendel medical institute in Brussels, 1907

Jack Simpson Kirkpatrick
Jack was born in 1892 in England he came from a family of eight children. When he was young he worked with donkeys, later he deserted a ship in australia when he heard of the war in Germany. He feared the Australian army would not let him join because he deserted his ship so he went under Jack Simpson and left off Kirkpatrick he was accepted.

Charles Upham was born on 21 September 1908, full name:Charles Hazlitt Uphams. He's probably one of the most famous NZ soldier because he has earned 2vc {Victoria cross}
